Some Significant Support Highlights
• 2009/10 Santa Run raises over £20,000 total for Cystic Fibrosis Trust & Children with Leukaemia
• 2008 Record breaking Santa Run raises £16,000 total for Cystic Fibrosis Trust, Pilgrims Hospices and many other local charities.
• 2008 Charity Dinner with the 2nd Battalion Royal Gurkha Rifles (£5K)
• 2007 Pilgrims Hospices (£4K) and Institute of Cancer Research (£3K)
• 2006 Kent Air Ambulance (£2.5K), Member Lee Robinson climbs the Matterhorn to swell our charity pot, and we help MAF to open an airstrip in South Sudan.
• 1999 Onwards - Life Education Mobile Classroom and Educator for Shepway schools (£75K) plus on-going contribution to running costs.
• 1996 Onwards - Handicamp Holidays (£20K) – holidays for handicapped local people
• 1995 Ghana Water Aid to provide fresh water for 15 villages (£6K).
• 1992 Age Concern Bus (£12K)
• 1989 Onwards Motor Neurone Disease Association marshals/logistics for the annual Saltwood Boxing Day Run (largest in Britain, nearly 1,000 runners).
• 1988 PolioPlus – Rotary’s worldwide polio eradication programme (£6K)
• 1985 Onwards - drivers for the Shepway Disabled Association bus
• 1981 (our 1st year) - Italian Earthquake Disaster - £4.5K raised in 2 days & 3 caravans of relief supplies driven there by Channel Rotary and Folkestone Round Table members.
